• The model features a carved Celtic Cross motif and circular ornamental braids related to the early medieval period. The shield is enriched and reinforced with steel bolts. The material I am using to create this model is 15mm thick birch plywood due to its lightweight and durability.
• This shield is blackened using the technique of wood burning, it is treated with linen seed oil and water-based varnish.
